What is sake?
Sake is an alcoholic beverage brewed from polished and fermented rice. It's made up of four simple and clean ingredients: rice, water, koji, and yeast. It originated in Japan about 1,700 years ago.
Sake is commonly associated with wine, but the production process is more similar to that of beer. It is made by fermenting polished rice where starch is converted into sugars, which then ferment into alcohol.
